JonesTrading Institutional Services LLC, a leading block trading firm in U.S. and international securities, which has broad and deep relationships with over 1,500 institutions and hedge funds, announced today that it is enhancing its capability to provide market intelligence to clients as they seek optimal trading of their strategies.

Market intelligence has been a staple in the provision of JonesTrading's execution services since its inception.

As meaningful content continues to disappear and execution is increasingly commoditized, JonesTrading takes a contrarian view. The firm remains committed to high touch relationship based trading and to the provision of market intelligence. Brokers are providing less insight at precisely the time when the demand for it is increasing. As trading becomes ever more challenging, each information advantage provided to clients aids them in their quest to generate alpha.

To spearhead the enhanced effort in the provision of market content, JonesTrading has named industry veteran Michael (Mike) O'Rourke as Managing Director, who brings over 15 years' experience to the role. He will serve as Chief Market Strategist.

He has served in senior roles on both the buy and sell sides. Prior to joining JonesTrading, Mr. O'Rourke was a Portfolio Manager and U.S. Strategist at Marshall Wace Asset Management. Previously, he was Chief Market Strategist at BTIG. He began his career at the Spear, Leeds & Kellogg division of Goldman Sachs. He regularly contributes to media including: Barron's; The Wall Street Journal; Business Week; Bloomberg Television and Radio; Fox Business Network; and CNBC.

Said Packy Jones, Chairman of JonesTrading: "These are challenging times for traditional asset and hedge fund managers. In today's complex trading environment they are frequently flying blind, because there is often no correlation between market conditions and trading. We have consistently filled that gap with intelligence and high quality content - and Mike's joining us is testament to our commitment to serving these comprehensive needs of our clients."

Said Mike O'Rourke, Managing Director: "As portfolio managers and traders seek to navigate today's complex environment, it is difficult to know when the most advantageous trades can be made. WeWe provide the intelligence they need to make sure their trading aligns with their investment philosophy."
