Police and Fire Federal Credit Union, Philadelphia, has renewed its relationship with First Data and the STAR® Network. As part of the multi-year agreement, First Data will provide debit processing and ATM terminal driving to Police and Fire, as well as PIN-secured debit point-of-sale (POS) and ATM access to the credit union's cardholders through the STAR Network.

With more than $4 billion in assets, Police and Fire FCU primarily serves active and retired Philadelphia police officers or firefighters and their families, through 10 branch locations and 25 ATMs. STAR is one of the nation's leading electronic funds transfer (EFT) networks, with more than 2 million retail and ATM locations, and a First Data company. First Data is a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing. First Data also provides plastics procurement for Police and Fire FCU.

"We've consistently received value from our relationship with STAR and First Data," said Mike Gatto, senior vice president of Information Systems for Police and Fire. "The services they offer help enable us to serve our own members reliably, providing secure and convenient access to their accounts today, while also laying out a path to innovative services we can turn to for future payments needs when we're ready."

"Police and Fire FCU is focused on being the primary financial services provider for their members," said Bryan Kratz, senior vice president, community financial institutions, First Data. "STAR and First Data support that goal by enabling the services consumers are seeking from a financial institution - helping them to increase loyalty from their members."
