Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. (JKHY) is a leading provider of technology solutions and payment processing services primarily for the financial services industry. Its Jack Henry Banking® division announced today the availability of the Centurion Hosted High Availability™ service.

This data replication service mirrors the sophisticated infrastructure that is supporting Jack Henry Banking's OutLink Data Centers™ to provide banks processing in-house on the CIF 20/20® and SilverLake System® core platforms with a fully managed service that eliminates the need to own, house, maintain, and upgrade redundant hardware platforms. Banks' mission-critical business and customer data is replicated to the industry's most secure disaster recovery facility using Mimix software. The Centurion Hosted High Availability service is operated from a secure facility in Branson, Mo., dubbed the "Mountain." Previously a dolomite rock mine, this hardened two million square foot facility is located 175 feet below ground and virtually impervious to natural disasters including hurricanes, floods, and tornados.

According to Don Gann, senior vice president at Missouri-based First State Community Bank, "Considering the recent impact of natural disasters and the heightened regulatory focus on disaster preparedness and recovery, the ability to replace our redundant hardware platform and eliminate all of the related expenses with this new data redundancy solution was a very easy decision for our bank. This hosted high availability service also eliminates the inherent security risks when couriers transport tapes, provides us with access to physical resources it would be impossible for our bank to replicate internally, and gives of the peace-of-mind that if we experience a business interruption the impact on our customers and our reputation, and the related financial losses will be minimal."

According to Doug Childress, general manager of Jack Henry & Associates' Retail Delivery group, which includes the Centurion business continuity and disaster recovery solutions, "Unfortunately banks can't control natural disasters or unexpected business interruptions like power outages or water main breaks. But they can control the time it takes them to get back to the business of bankking. The data redundancy available with our Hosted High Availability service significantly reduces the recovery times possible with traditional tape-based or electronic vaulting solutions. Banks can be up and running in as little as 60 minutes with this new reliable, proven, cost-effective Centurion service. Like all Centurion solutions, this next-generation data redundancy service helps banks proactively protect themselves and their customers while complying with the related regulatory requirements."

Jack Henry Banking also offers the Centurion Co-Location™ service for banks that want to retain ownership of their redundant hardware platforms but relocate those platforms to the "Mountain." Jack Henry Banking provides these banks with the space, redundant power sources, climate control systems, telecommunications, network connectivity, and security and monitoring services.
