Collis test tools secure Discover qualification

Collis, part of UL, announces the official qualification of both the Collis Brand Test Tool and the Collis Smart Link Box by Discover Financial Services for acquirer end-to-end testing.

In order to get access to the Discover network, acquirers are required to execute the D-PAS Acquirer End-to-End test cases successfully. Moving forward, the Collis Brand Test Tool is qualified to be used for that purpose.

As the United States are heading towards a migration to EMV, it is important for acquirers to have a reliable test tool that can prove their readiness for this migration. Such a test tool should cover all relevant payment scheme brands. With the qualification by Discover, we are proud to say that the Collis Brand Test Tool provides the solution for acceptance testing of payment terminals for the seven largest payments associations worldwide. Consequently, as Discover Financial Services own the brands Discover and Diners Club International, the Collis Brand Test Tool tests the acceptance of both brands.

The Collis Brand Test Tool has the ability to simulate any test card, both contact and contactless. Using card simulation takes away the need for physical cards that can get corrupted or lost. The Collis Brand Test Tool provides clear user guidance and it is fully aligned with the Discover Test Specifications. It also provides full insight in the technical details of the communication between the card and the terminal on the one side and between the terminal and the network on the other side. This allows a tester to gain detailed insight in the behaviour of the system from end-to-end.

Collis, RFI Global and Witham Laboratories will rebrand to UL by the 1st of November.
