XRomb becomes GlobalPlatform member

Tech start-up XRomb, Inc., a developer of software solutions that transform popular smartphones into interactive contactless transaction devices, has become the latest member of GlobalPlatform.

The mobile contactless payment enabler joins GlobalPlatform - the organization which standardizes the management of applications on secure chip technology - at Observer Member level and will have a particular focus on the work of the GlobalPlatform Mobile Task Force.

Mike Kushevsky, Chief Operating Officer of XRomb, comments: "Through our membership of GlobalPlatform we look forward to forming strategic relations with leading industry players. Engagement in Mobile Task Force discussion will also enable us to share our expertise in debates that will shape specifications and standards for future mobile technologies, and allow us to achieve compliance for the XRomb mobile wallet."

Kevin Gillick, Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, adds: "The mobile payment ecosystem is evolving at a rapid pace and it's great to see start-ups, such as XRomb, identifying involvement in GlobalPlatform as a priority so soon after launch."
