U.S. Bank is looking to hire 60 highly skilled technology team members for its Brookfield-based credit card issuing technology team.

Bill Bertha, president of U.S. Bank in Wisconsin, said when U.S. Bank's retail payments solutions division looked to expand its credit card technology support team by 20 percent, it chose Brookfield because it is a great technology market. "It says a lot about the quality of our work force, the strong work ethic and the importance of the Milwaukee market for U.S. Bank going forward."

Prescott Balch, U.S. Bank senior vice president and development manager for the bank's credit card technology team, said that the bank is currently taking applications through its website, usbank.com/careers for positions that will become available immediately and throughout the year.

Balch noted U.S. Bank has a healthy card business which continues to grow both organically and through acquisitions. "Despite unprecedented legislative and competitive changes in the card industry, U.S. Bank continues to invest in this very important business," he said.

He added that U.S. Bank is also looking to the future. "This is a great time to reinvest in our infrastructure so that we can continue to provide top-notch service for our existing customers while building for future growth," Balch said.

U.S. Bank's technology and operations services group has approximately 300 employees supporting the credit card arm of its retail payments solutions group, which also provides debit and prepaid cards. About two-thirds of those are based in Brookfield, with the others in Portland, Minneapolis and Denver locations.

The additional jobs will bring U.S. Bank's total employees to 3,331 in Milwaukee and the Southeast Wisconsin area and 4,804 in the state.
