Neptune Software today announced that Victoria Commercial Bank, a leading bank in Kenya, will implement Neptune's Rubikon banking system.

Victoria Commercial Bank was recently awarded a prize by the Kenya Bankers Association as the best bank amongst its peers in Kenya. The bank focuses on corporate banking but extends banking services to employees of their corporate clients. Being corporate-focused, they were looking for a system that could allow them extend services through delivery channels such as Internet and Mobile Banking. The bank is using Microbanker from I-Flex but wanted a system that could meet their unique requirements and also offer local and proactive vendor support. They looked at various systems and selected Rubikon as the best fit for them. To ensure consistent quality of service to their customers from end to end, they also wanted a system that provided integrated workflow and case management functionality. Chibuzo Ene, Director, Neptune Software explains: "For example, they actually send couriers to pick up cheques, cash, etc from customers, and want the customer to be able to initiate the dispatch of the courier which will then trigger a chain of processes up to when the customer receives electronic advices that their accounts have been credited".

Yogesh Pattni, Managing Director, Victoria Commercial Bank (VCB) said "VCB pride themselves in excelling and being the best at whatever products and services they offer and Rubikon will help them maintain that reputation". He also added that their engagements with Neptune Software over the sales process have convinced him and everyone within the bank that Neptune will indeed be a true and supportive partner. The planning phase of the project will begin in November, with the go live date to be early in 2009.
