Investors need to be aware of the risks as well as the benefits of outsourcing in order to spot the winners and losers in this emerging business, according to research by global fund manager Standard Life Investments.
The fund manager examines the impact of outsourcing in different countries, industries and management functions, and highlights the factors that may seperate the winners from the losers in the outsourcing space.
The research indicates that that smaller, nimbler outsourcing firms may well be the long-term winners, rather than necessarily some of the current leaders in this field.
