Mobile commerce consortium Radicchio summarises the technical and business issues relating to PKI deployment in m-commerce.

The paper provides a brief, systematic overview of security considerations for trusted transaction services in wireless environments. It also provides guidelines for technical and business executives to ease the move into mobile business.
The document explains the concept of digital signature-based security with sections ranging from the algorithms used in encryption, through the secure framework made up of cryptographic keys, certificates and registration to the business issues of scalability and performance and the more futuristic area of biometrics. It also discusses the interoperability issues that have to be overcome to enable global transaction roaming.
The paper is authored by Johann Bezuidenhoudt, of South African mobile operator MTN and member of the Radicchio board of directors and Reinhard Scholl of Secartis.
