A new model for settlement

A new model for settlement

Source:

A white paper from the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) outlining proposals for the construction of a new transaction inventory management system, designed to streamline securities settlement by creating a single point of entry for all trade-related data.

The paper is divided into three sections:
* the first describes US settlement processing today, and explains why it needs to change;
* the second describes the new settlement model, dealing with the new inventory management capabilities, improvements in system management and certain integration issues that mostly concern payments; and
* the last section describes the implementation stages and near-term steps required to transform the vision into reality.
