You are invited to register your interest to participate in a lunchtime workshop to explore the latest findings of research by Finextra and the British Standards Institution (BSI). A buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Finextra and BSI are carrying out research into the possible role of standards in supporting the development of the fintech industry in the UK. Following two workshops and a programme of outreach and investigation, the purpose of this lunch meeting is to discuss and validate the findings of the research so far and explore possible next steps.
The priorities that have so far emerged from our research and that we want to further validate include potential roles for standards:
- To make it more straightforward for banks to work with fintechs who can’t easily meet the normal due diligence requirements banks apply to suppliers
- To make it easier for fintechs to work with bank standards, addressing the semantics problem fintechs face when dealing with the banking industry; and
- To support consumer protection/assurance around the use of fintech solutions
We are pulling together an expert group representing banks, start-ups, technology vendors, industry associations, legal firms and others to join in a facilitated interactive discussion to take the research to the next level.
If you would like to participate and share your experience and expertise to validate the research findings so far and contribute to the next steps to take them forward, please register your interest in attending.
