DrKW takes control of the desktop

DrKW takes control of the desktop

Source:

European financial institution Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein implemented Microsoft® System Management Server (SMS) in an initiative aimed at improving desktop audit capabilities and the management of client IT infrastructures worldwide.

DrKW regularly deploys mission critical applications, hardware and software to clients’ desktops in support of shared business objectives. However, the tracking of clients' license expiration or the need for system upgrades was becoming particularly difficult and involved undertaking audits and inventories. A similar scenario existed in keeping a check on computer viruses and counting and maintaining the number of applications or systems users.
The implementation of SMS has enabled the bank to manage systems and applications and improves its Client Services support teams’ ability to quickly turn around potential difficulties while reducing desktop operational costs. The system also provides DrKW with the technology to perform detailed hardware and software inventory reporting and distribute and install software across the globe at rapid speed.
