  This is a good overview, but there's one minor misstatement - acquirers do not take all the risk for all chargebacks. The card networks have lengthy rules that govern liability for chargebacks and either the issuer or acquirer can be liable depending on the scenario. For example, chip and PIN fraud or fully authenticated ecommerce fraud (3DS verified) cannot be charged back so the losses sit with the issuer.
