Basel III regulatory reforms reported to G20 Leaders

26 September 2013  |  3133 views  |  0

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) has published its fourth report
on the implementation of Basel III regulatory reforms for the G20 Leaders'
September Summit.

Full, timely and consistent implementation of Basel III has been accorded high
priority by the G20 Leaders.  The report covers the:

  • steps taken by Basel Committee member jurisdictions towards implementing the Basel III standards (25 out of 27 jurisdictions have now issued their final capital regulations);
  • further harmonisation of capital regulations across member jurisdictions; and
  • finalisation of remaining post-crisis reforms that form part of the Basel regulatory framework.

The report also includes the findings of the Committee's work on banks' calculation
of risk-weighted assets.
