Apparently, legendary blues guitarist Bo Diddley will ring the opening bell at the American Stock Exchange this morning.
Why?
Perhaps the AmEx mistook Mr Diddley for his mad, bad contemporary Chuck Berry, who improbably scored a big hit in the 1970s with ‘My ding-a-ling'.
Or then again, perhaps not.
Personally, I'd recommend getting one-hit-wonder Anita Ward out of mothballs and down to the floor in memory of her 1979 disco smash 'Ring my bell'.
Any other musical nominations for the stock exchange bell ringers hall of fame?
