2018 Year of Intelligence - Artificial and Augmentation

This year my first post of the year is written from New Delhi India. Wishing you all a very happy new year. Year 1956 when ‘Artificial Intelligence’ was coined got its place in history and now Year 2018 will make people forget everything of past and will attain much more higher level respect for AI. As soon as it works, no one will call it AI anymore. In short 1956 Year of AI will be rewritten as 2018 Year of AI & IA and AI Integration with Web and Mobile Apps will lead the trend chart. What this means is; the idea that once upon a time was “Technology like the photo library on our smartphone would have once been considered AI, now it’s just the norm.”

Artificial intelligence is no longer just evolving nomenclature in technology anyways. AI would become just a computer inside the robot or another software or a brain siting out of human body. Sadly until now AI has been over-hyped term in the past year or so. Many technology companies and even some non-tech companies choose to claim their products and services use some form of AI even though saying so is quite a big of a stretch. For human challenges which are characterised by extreme complexity, from climate change to feeding and providing healthcare for an ever-expanding global population. What AI will bring in 2018 for these problems ?

Time has come when Artificial Intelligence will be more closer to you (best of all times) and will be part of every day life for almost everything. More recently, however, AI has broken away from the hypothetical and into real-world business solutions. Jokes like “Dont you have natural one as comment in the response to the answer “I do artificial intelligence will no longer make sense”. We will see data driven machines to give humanized support and help. 2017 already laid the foundation for faster & smarter AI in 2018.

What can we expect from Artificial Intelligence in 2018. Its very easy and difficult to answer at the same time. Read on this post for artificial intelligence trends we’ll see in 2018. We used to think artificial intelligence was a silly sci-fi concept but when you really look into it, it seems like its been slowly encroaching into most areas of everyday life! Fortunately, developments in AI could play an innovative role in helping us address these problems.

Year 2018 will be known as year of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligence Augmentation for sure (in my personal opinion).  AI usage in FinTech will augment FinTech Intelligence’s all time best. FinTech Intelligence will boost Payment Intelligence, Threat intelligence and info-security vulnerability hunting. Artificial Intelligence anyways doing everything at its best already in today’s time. AI cutting across all domains right from  creating artwork, fighting cancer, melting down info security threats, reinventing Banking and FinTech in short disrupting world economics.

Amalgamating the latest technology of artificial intelligence, predictive analytics and cognitive messaging to serve millions of customers will be the smartest, most innovative and best winning strategy! AI and regulation will pave the way for Fintech Intelligence. Artificial intelligence will be the new factor of production and it will demonstrate conceivable potential to introduce new sources of growth, reinventing the business in place, changing how work is done and reinforcing the role of people to drive growth in business.

Artificial Intelligence will create best Payment intelligence (PI) system at national level which can bring the whole nation together, secured and cleaner of underground and street economies. Imagine a scenario like this “You walk in a shopping mall and get a sms which reads “Walk on to 3rd floor to buy your favorite brand of cloths and get 20% discount”. Because its 25th of the month and you got paid meaning have money.

So here merchant, bank, employer, telephony service provider, credit service provider and many other are all  connected to PI System so this kind of system can generate business. At the same time once you fall short system can offer micro credit of $10 to $500 credit depending on your credit ratting and charge you 10-20% rate of interest for 3 months period (80% over 12 months) and you wont even mind or realize.

FinTech will be known as best financial system model with the help of AI. In one way or another way on how to make money in all correct and legal manner AI will create application of any computer-enabled algorithm that can be applied against a data set to find a pattern in the data. Because of this, new wild and flashy AI systems that are making FinTech ‘s smart systems smarter  and can help to them to fly.

Not surprisingly, these companies each have a clear market application and reduce friction in the business problems they address. Fintech’s Artificial Intelligence revolution is perfect example and era of pervasive AI financial technology services and will also back medical research, diagnosis and treatments. As a FinTech professional I would say biggest change or support through AI will be in the area of payments intelligence and fraud intelligence. AI and AI subfields are embedded in how we sift through large volumes of data and content and how we enhance, organize, connect, and deliver content and information. Intelligent things will be the trend or a simple norm as given

If you are a frequent online shopper you experience will go thousands time better and you will no longer gets recommendation for coffee maker if you are searching for business outfits as era of machine learning will improves substantially and eventually ecommerce will be more interactive and intuitive. In the information industry AI and machine learning are already driving innovation and transformation. They are the engines underlying many of our products and services. AI in 2018 would be the digital marketing field which is already in a dynamically evolving phase.

AI will Boost info security through behavioral biometric intelligence

  • With account takeover and mobile fraud growing in leaps and bounds, the need to move beyond password protection and two-factor authentication has never been greater. Hackers routinely find ways to steal personally identifiable information (PII)
  • The software that runs our electrical grids, security cameras, and cellphones is plagued by security flaws. We shouldn’t expect software for self-driving cars and domestic robots to be any different. It may in fact be worse: There’s evidence that the complexity of machine-learning software introduces new avenues of attack.
  • Behavioral biometrics presents a fairly new approach to monitoring and scoring customer and device interactions during transactions.
  • Voice biometrics is been attempted to combine with AI in a bid to directly communicate with chatbots up to the emotional level of understanding. There will be a surge in AI based chatbots.
  • This could probably reduce the need for human operators in call centers in the future while protecting employee perpetrated data leaks
  • Companies in the fintech industry will find multiple opportunities to enhance decisions on lending, such as how to optimise financial advising or execute better trading decisions.
  • We will see more and more AI based hardware will be produced and in demand especially by new startups to disrupt the industry. “Starting same business with difference which will be AI”.
  • Artificial Intelligence will impact on human jobs which is debatable and in my personal opinion it will force people to change and upgrade skill before they them self gets replaced. Forrester predicts that cognitive technologies (ML, automation, robots etc) will replace the 7% of US jobs by 2025.

Conclusion –  For Artificial Intelligence year 2018 will be much beyond then just graduating boardgames. Machines would be much better than ever in working with text and images. Will have much better ability to take out sentiments from text and images to respond accordingly. That’s why DeepMind and Facebook both started working on the multiplayer video game StarCraft in 2017. Neither have yet gotten very far. 2018 AI will aims to give machines the kind of grounding in common sense and the physical world that underpins our own thinking. Consumers will be able to perform complex transactions, such as making purchases and payments or transferring funds, without the need to type a single character. AI could also help improve the algorithms to create the optimal financial advising.
