MPI Europe outlines the results of a survey questionnaire that was conducted among 90 banks and building societies on their preparations for the UK Faster Payments scheme.
The results revealed a clear distinction between the clearing bank scheme members and the rest. Non-members complain about a lack of information from scheme members to help them plan for the introduction of the programme. Clearing banks conversely appear more woried about having their own houses in order in time for the introduction of the schem.
The fact that the results show a high level of concern about timescales for UKFP implementation is not particularly surprising. What is more surprising is the apparent lack of agreement across the respondents as to which functional areas require attention.
