Seeking to cut messaging costs and improve automation, South Africa's Absa Bank, now a member of the Barclays Group, chooses Misys Message Manager.

Conscious of rising complexity and communication costs, Absa recently conducted an internal review of its Swift messaging infrastructure, with the objective of removing the manual processes from the back-office and addressing increasingly challenging straight-through processing (STP) issues.

The review revealed the existing infrastructure, which included a total of six major back-office systems either producing or processing Swift messages, to be running at a level that demanded a significant cost reduction exercise.
