UniCredit announces that it has partnered with Samsung, offering customers in Italy Samsung Pay, the new application that allows owners of enabled Samsung devices to pay in stores in a simple, safe and fast way.

"We are living in a world that is increasingly digital, characterised by a speed of change like we have never seen before and where people are constantly looking for personalised and instant services to meet their needs, anytime and anywhere - said Gianni Franco Papa, General Manager of UniCredit - This also applies to the financial sector: customers ask for new ways to communicate with the Bank and to manage their operations in a simpler way, as shown by the significant growth in the usage of our online and mobile channels in Italy, with over 3.1 million active online customers, 1.75 million mobile customers and the increase in remote sales last year. For this reason, we are committed to the development of innovative products and services: both leveraging our internal platform, as part of the Transform 2019 plan, through IT investment of EUR 2.4 billion and collaborating with external partners, to expand our offer with the best solutions on the market. Today we are very proud to sign this partnership with Samsung, thanks to which our customers in Italy will be able to use Samsung Pay from the very first day of its launch in our country ".

As of today, 22 March, the launch date of Samsung Pay in Italy, UniCredit credit cards, MyPay and MyOne prepaid and debit cards can be added and enabled for payment directly from the Samsung Pay app in a few simple steps, by following the instructions on enabled Samsung devices.
