Orchestria, the global leader in software for active policy management (APM), announced today that Bear Stearns, a leading investment banking and securities trading and brokerage firm, is using Orchestria 4.0 to enhance its policy management initiatives for electronic communications.

Orchestria's software for active policy management helps to ensure that electronic messages comply with regulations from organizations such as NASD and SEC, the terms of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and with Bear Stearns’ internal corporate policies. Through Real-time Prevention and Intelligent Review, Orchestria enforces policy to prevent non-compliant messages from being sent, stored or posted, intelligently scrutinizes all acts of non-compliance to deter repeat offenses and educates all users without disrupting business workflow.

"We selected Orchestria because it provides the most comprehensive compliance solution to help mitigate the risks in electronic communication," said Peter Cherasia, chief information officer of Bear Stearns.

Constellation Ventures, a Bear Stearns Asset Management Venture Capital Fund, is an investor in Orchestria and a Bear Stearns managing director is a director of the company. Constellation Ventures invests in early to mid-stage companies that enable the distribution, management and control of information over emerging digital networks.
