Hyland Software's OnBase enterprise content management (ECM) solution has been selected by BankservAfrica, provider of interbank electronic transaction, switching and settlement services, to streamline document and record management processes.

BankservAfrica will use its ECM solution to help improve information management practices at the organisation, which annually switches 1.89 billion cleared and settled transactions worth trillions of rands.

To assist its busy employees in their day-to-day work, BankservAfrica sought a standardised way of electronically storing and accessing information. The clearing house also required a dedicated workflow tool that would enable users to record interactions containing corporate and client information, as well as the ability to introduce a consistent contract management process across the enterprise.

BankservAfrica member organisation, Document Solutions International (DSI), identified OnBase as being an ideal solution for all of BankservAfrica's business requirements.

"Our primary goal was to find a centralised content management system that worked with existing business-critical interfaces," said Scott Rossouw BankservAfrica's business development manager. "We also wanted to minimise the use of paper and create a clear and structured document workflow process. The vast scope of the OnBase solution combined with how easy it is to use made it the ideal ECM solution."

Hyland Software's EMEA Director of Sales, James Longstaff added: "BankservAfrica has a strong reputation in the financial services sector as a trusted payment transactions partner. We are delighted that it has chosen our industry-recognised ECM solution and that OnBase is exceeding its expectations."
