ITRS Group, the leading global provider of predictive, real-time monitoring and proactive application performance management products to the world's financial community, has announced today the launch of its new Oracle Coherence interface.

Oracle Coherence is an in-memory data grid that allows organisations to improve the performance of real-time, data-intensive applications by storing frequently-used data in memory. With Oracle Coherence playing a key role in delivering high-performance computing, firms must be able to easily monitor the overall health and performance of their data grids. Being able to see easily and clearly how a whole system or service - which includes Oracle Coherence - is performing, from end-to-end, are key to maintaining a fully functioning environment. Oracle Coherence is becoming a vital technology for supporting complex in-memory data applications for critical areas such as risk management and trading.

Misha Kipnis, ITRS CTO, says, "The interface to Oracle Coherence makes it very easy for operations teams using ITRS Geneos to gain the visibility they need to anticipate problems in their Coherence-based environments and take corrective action before operations are impacted. This is of great importance in today's environment, where speed and availability of systems are crucial to financial institutions."

ITRS's Geneos interface to Oracle Coherence enables operations teams to have effective and tight control over Oracle Coherence data grids. The complete set of Geneos functionality will now be available to Oracle Coherence users. The interface provides information that permits business functions and operations teams to monitor performance by business line or application in real-time. Geneos maintains a complete and detailed history of monitored events and values, which allows companies to analyse performance and usage. This information is also available to other visualisation and analysis applications.

Oracle Coherence monitoring can be incorporated into a Geneos-managed environment, and existing rules can be extended to include in-memory grid performance. The Geneos unified interface enables operations teams to manage Oracle Coherence in exactly the same way as their other systems, eliminating the need for operations staff to learn multiple tools and/or interfaces. Easily available, detailed and/or high-level metrics, are available through Geneos Workstation via an intuitive graphical interface, which supports real-time, colour-coded visualisations and gives operations staff the tools to take corrective action. New rules, automated responses to events and the routine steps to be taken in the fault resolution process are easy to set-up.
