Mississippi-based Keesler Federal Credit Union has chosen Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) to upgrade its automated teller machine (ATM) network in the United Kingdom by replacing its current terminals with Diebold Opteva ATMs, powered by Agilis software.

The contract also includes a three-year agreement for Diebold to provide maintenance services, leveraging Opteview remote services, Diebold's remote troubleshooting and diagnostic application. The updated and remotely monitored ATM network will help increase security and ATM uptimes, as well as provide an enhanced consumer experience.

"Many of our members are military personnel that rely on our ATMs located on bases," said Alma Bard, vice president of operations UK, Keesler Federal Credit Union. "This makes operational excellence vital to our members and a No. 1 priority for Keesler. Diebold Opteview remote services will allow us to proactively manage our network, helping provide an enhanced level of service to our customers."

The Opteview remote service monitors ATMs and initiates a two-way remote session when trouble is detected. After assessing the status of an ATM and making a diagnosis, Opteview either fixes the machine or dispatches an engineer with the exact information and parts needed to correct the problem, reducing on-site resolution time and improving first-time fix rates.tBy resolving service calls remotely, Opteview improves ATM uptime and availability, helping to decrease service costs and improve consumer satisfaction.

"Diebold's Opteview remote service is an integral component in Diebold's long-term commitment to provide our customers with the best service solutions for their self-service terminals," said Mark Robinson, sales manager, Diebold UK. "Additionally, Diebold Agilis software will provide Keesler with a growth path into the future as its customers' needs evolve."

The Agilis software platform is a flexible solution, allowing for integration with a financial institution's multiple systems. Its customizable framework allows for future functionality, such as mobile banking, ATM content delivery and deposit automation to be added, providing a growth channel for Keesler Federal Credit Union.

Launched in 2003 following an in-depth worldwide analysis of consumer need in financial self-service, the Diebold Opteva ATM range rapidly established itself as the reference with its many innovations, ergonomic design, flexibility and high availability. More than 200,000 units are currently installed across the world and are used by the largest financial companies.

To accompany the fast development of new banking services and their deployment on multi-vendor networks, Diebold has also launched the Agilis software range. The most recent addition, Agilis EmPower, is more particularly designed for the distribution of multi-channel services (ATM/Internet/mobile telephone).
