Collis brand test tool gets Visa approval

Source: Collis

Collis announces today that Visa has confirmed the Collis Brand Test Tool for the contactless ADVT-qVSDC module according to the qVSDC Device Module Test Plan.

The Collis Brand Test Tool (Collis BTT) provides a unique solution to enable terminal acquirers and vendors to validate the payment brand testing of their EMV terminals (POS, ATM). Collis has introduced a solution that enables acquirers to meet the testing requirements for Visa payWave contactless (ADVT-qVSDC) terminals. Collis is pleased to announce that the solution has recently been approved by Visa Inc.

Use of the ADVT qVSDC is mandatory prior to device deployment in situations where an acquirer has either modified software on an existing device or is in the process of installing a new reader to support Visa payWave acceptance. In the specific case of a Visa payWave acquirer deploying a new qVSDC reader into their existing acceptance environment, use of the ADVT qVSDC is required in order to complete the self-testing component of the device approval process, and is a Visa requirement prior to deployment of such readers.

Since 2008, Collis has provided Visa Europe with the Visa payWave Test Tool (VpTT) solution that is mandatory in its region for Visa contactless terminal testing. This tool has been specifically designed and developed in collaboration with Visa Europe. With the confirmation of the ADVT-qVSDC module in the Collis BTT, we are very pleased to announce that we have a solution for testing of contactless Visa terminals installed outside of Europe.

The Collis BTT is used to test the behaviour of a terminal according to the payment scheme rules without the need of physical test cards. It is a terminal testing solution for both contact and contactless payments. The Collis BTT enables a terminal to be tested within the environment of use and within the brand settings that will be used in the field. The ultimate goal of tests performed by the Collis BTT is to have an EMV-compliant and payment association-certified terminal that can perform trouble-free transactions within the entire payment infrastructure. By using the Collis BTT interoperability, issues can be detected before terminals are deployed in the field.

Dirk Jan van den Heuvel, CEO of Collis, comments: "Collis is committed to providing innovative test tools and high quality solutions for our customers. We are pleased to announce this confirmation which enables interoperability, shorter lead times and assured certification for Acquirers and Vendors with the Collis Brand Test Tool. "
