Diebold appoints Charles Ducey EVP, North America operations

Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) has named Charles E. (Chuck) Ducey, Jr., as executive vice president, North America operations.

In his new role, Ducey, 54, will lead the company's financial self-service and security operations in the region, including all related sales, customer support and services infrastructure. He will also lead Diebold's growing Integrated Services business and will continue to oversee global software development, product management and marketing.

Dave Bucci, 58, senior vice president for Diebold's customer solutions group, which includes all North American sales and sales support functions, is retiring after more than 30 successful years with the company. He will continue to work with Diebold on a consulting basis during the leadership transition period, with a focus on re-engineering the company's global sales processes and operations.

"Chuck brings outstanding qualifications and experience to this position and is the ideal person to sustain and grow our business in North America," said Thomas W. Swidarski, Diebold president and chief executive officer. "As the North America market develops into a more mature phase, it is critical that we adapt along with it - and Chuck has the right skill set to lead those efforts."

Swidarski continued, "Dave Bucci has played an integral role in Diebold's evolution into the leading financial self-service provider in North America. We look forward to the support he will provide us in the near term as we work to elevate our sales operations, particularly those in North America, to a world-class level. We are very grateful for the dedicated and enthusiastic service he has provided to Diebold throughout his career, and for the tremendous customer relationships he helped to forge for the company during the past 30 years."

Ducey joined Diebold in 1978 and has held various field and home office positions, including the position of vice president, service operations and finance for the North American Sales and Service division. He has held other numerous leadership positions for Diebold in the areas of softas of software, services and finance before being named to his most recent role as senior vice president, global development and services. Ducey received a bachelor's degree in accounting from The University of Akron in Ohio and a master's degree in business administration from Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio.

Bucci joined the company in 1977 as a sales trainee in Syracuse, N.Y. He has held various sales and management positions with Diebold including vice president for the Eastern division. Prior to his most recent position with Diebold, Bucci served the company as senior vice president, North American Sales and Service. A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Bucci received a bachelor's degree in education from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Mass., and completed master's work at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
