Heartland Payment Systems, one of the nation's largest payments processors, has bundled Panini's I:Deal check scanner with its Express Funds solution for remote deposit capture (RDC), powered by transmodus.

Heartland is already processing live deposits via the bank-neutral check management solution using the newest scanner platform from Panini, the market leader in distributed capture. The Express Funds solution allows Heartland customers to scan and deposit checks to any bank at their convenience using the Panini I:Deal.

"We began looking for an easy-to-use, reliable and cost-effective check scanner when we expanded our Express Funds solution," says Tony Capucille, director of check management at Heartland. "The Panini I:Deal supports our strategy to provide state-of-the-art solutions to business owners receiving paper payments."

Heartland Express Funds is an innovative program designed to accelerate cash flow for business users by digitizing the check deposit process. With this unique deposit and recovery solution, business owners gain the ability to deposit checks anytime and from anywhere - using the Panini I:Deal. They also benefit from the advantages of Heartland AutoRecoverySM, an automated program that efficiently recovers funds from returned checks.

"We are very excited that Heartland selected the Panini I:Deal for its Express Funds solution," adds Doug Roberts, president of Panini North America. "The bank-neutral component, as well as Heartland's national sales and servicing force of more than 1,700 professionals, provides a wonderful opportunity to facilitate downstream adoption of remote deposit capture."

The first checks ever processed by a client for deposit into a financial institution using the Panini I:Deal scanner took place on April 22, 2009 through Express Funds, powered by transmodus.
