Intelligent Environments Group plc ('iE'), the online software provider for financial services, said that it has gained significant contracts, worth in excess of £400,000, with an existing customer to expand the functionality of the customer's successful online application platform, built using iE's NetFinance software. The extensions are due to be completed before the end of the year.

The contracts have been awarded in response to the rapid increase in the volumes of online applications received by the bank. As well as adding a high profile new brand to the platform, key aspects of the new contract are to provide more flexibility for customers to design their own products, to upgrade the platform to meet the full requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), and to increase capacity to support additions of future brands and products. In recent tests at the Microsoft Technology Centre, the NetFinance software was able to process 40,000 applications per hour on an industry standard, commodity quad-processor server.

Phillip Blundell, chief executive of iE, said: "These contracts are further evidence of how banks are starting to invest again in the next generation of internet applications to support a significant growth in sales of online retail financial products. We are delighted that we are continuing to successfully build partnerships with our key customers."
