RTS Realtime Systems Group (RTS), a leading independent software vendor, announced that it is offering proximity services to IntercontinentalExchange (ICE), after the exchange relocated its primary data center to Chicago.

RTS, whose data center and solution offering is located in the same building as ICE, has put in place a cross-connect to ICE's matching engine, providing its customers with the fastest possible connection to ICE's enhanced matching engine.

"We are very pleased to provide our customers high-speed access to ICE's new matching engine," said Timo Pentner, Senior Vice President, Product Services at RTS in Chicago. He added that "the transition of ICE's matching engine to the new Chicago data center was very smooth."

Pentner said that ICE's new iMpact market data feed is a much faster and more stable feed than the Java API and has received wide acceptance among the RTS customer base. Further enhancements to the interface in terms of speed and functionality have already been very valuable to RTS's very speed-sensitive user group.

"The combination of the iMpact feed, the FIX-based trading connection and cross-connect through the Chicago data center have brought substantial improvements to the RTS ICE connection on behalf of our customers," Pentner said.
