ISE launches XML feed for sentiment data offering

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE: ISE) today announced the launch of a direct XML data feed for ISEE Select, its customized sentiment data offering.

Subscribers to the proprietary ISEE Select XML Feed can now simultaneously access sentiment values for nearly all securities that trade options on ISE as they are published every twenty minutes.

ISE developed the ISEE Select XML Feed in response to requests from investment professionals to integrate sentiment values directly into their analytical models. Previously, only a maximum of five ISEE Select values could be retrieved at once through a web-based application.

ISEE Select is an enhancement of the highly regarded ISE Sentiment Index (ISEE), a calculation that provides a single put/call value for overall market sentiment. ISEE Select enables subscribers to identify investor sentiment for individual securities or select industry sectors based on a unique calculation methodology that uses proprietary ISE trade data. Unlike the traditional put/call ratio, ISEE Select values are expressed as a ratio of opening long call options bought by customers to opening long put options bought by customers. By only including opening long ISE customer transactions, ISEE Select's sentiment index calculation may provide a more accurate reflection of true investor sentiment since trading activity by market makers and proprietary desks can often skew a sentiment value.
