UK-based Pinnacle Insurance is to deploy technology from business intelligence software provider Aruna to improve internal access for customer information data and management reporting.
Employees responsible for the insurer's management information services will use Aruna Companion to access, analyse and understand the variety of data contained within existing multiple systems from their desktops.
The system will also be applied to Pinnacle Insurance’s internal management reporting with the capability to create sophisticated reports across product sales, marketing and business development functions. Detailed analysis will enable clear identification of areas of profitability and potential business growth for creditor and warranty insurance, says the company. Customer requirements and trends can be analysed across all related financial products, such as credit card, mortgages and loans.
The product copies and compresses information from the company’s multiple data sources into a unified and optimised format - the Query Data Set (QDS). The QDS increases the number of users able to access information, and simultaneously protects and enhances existing data warehouse investments whilst relieving network traffic on high volume systems.
The implementation is due to go live in October 2001 in the UK with plans to apply the functionality to information and data sources within foreign subsidiaries at a later date.
