Canadian payments vendor HyperWallet has added Thomas Noyes, banking and technology veteran and the man behind the FinVentures blog, to its board of directors.
Noyes is managing partner at Starpoint, leading a team of former payments, banking, software, mobile and advertising executives providing advisory services.
Before Starpoint he was global remote channels head at Citigroup's Global Consumer Group and led Wachovia's online and payment services. He's also worked for Oracle and various Silicon Valley start-ups.
Noyes also writes the FinVentures blog, which he used to post a generally positive review of HyperWallet last May.
Says Noyes on his new role: "Global payments is not an easy business. Over the last 10 years, hyperWallet has done the hard work of developing banking relationships in over 50 countries with the ability to disburse and clear funds in 1-3 business days. Only the largest commercial banks have provided this type of global network."
