California-based business integration systems firm Tibco Software has acquired ObjectStar, a privately-held provider of mainframe integration systems, for an undisclosed sum.
Tibco says the acquisition of ObjectStar will enable it compete more effectively with IBM in the native mainframe integration market.
Objectstar's integration platform enables firms to obtain real-time, global access to customer data and associated business processes.
Tibco says the addition of native integration capabilities for CA-IDMS, ADABAS, and Model 204 databases will enhance its product offerings in the financial services and government markets.
