Carreker president and COO Hansen quits

Mike Hansen has resigned as president and chief operating officer of Dallas-based banking and payments systems vendor Carreker Corporation.

Carreker says Hansen, who has been president and COO since December 2001, has chosen to leave the company but no further details were disclosed. News of his departures was tagged onto the end of a statement concerning a separate appointment. It coincided with the publication of third quarter results showing depressed revenue and operating income compared to last year and a warning that slow sales might take the company into the red in the fourth quarter.

Hansen re-joined Carreker as head of its payments technology group in October 2000 after nearly ten years in executive banking positions. He originally joined Carreker in 1983 where he provided consulting services to financial institution clients.

Following his resignation company chairman and chief executive officer Denny Carreker will assume the title of president.

In a separate move Carreker has appointed Suzette Massie as president of its global payments consulting (GPC) unit. Massie has been a partner in Accenture's financial services practice for the past four years of her fourteen-year tenure with the company.

Carreker says Lou Buglioli, who has been heading the GPC business since June 2004, will assume a new strategic payments sales leadership role.
