Standard Life has selected search technology from Verity to improve employee access to business and customer information over the corporate intranet.
The Edinburgh-based mutual says verity's K2 Enterprise software will be used as the foundation tool for its future intellectual capital management (ICM) strategy.
Keith Dumble, senior IT designer at Standard Life, says: "We had outgrown our legacy system and needed to update our intellectual capital management tools."
The system has already been implemented in the UK, where the product will access Standard Life's intranet content, including Lotus Notes, as well as HTML and non-HTML documents.
Says Dumble: "We are now working with Verity on phase two of the project, to expand our use of its functionality on projects to increase indices, seed an enterprise portal and incorporate external spidering, as well as parametric search, categorization and recommendation functionalities."
