SunGard Availability Services is launching a managed e-mail archiving service designed to help firms meet compliance regulations including SEC Rule 17a4 and Sarbanes-Oxley.
Archiving Service for Messaging is aimed at financial services firms that have both regulatory and corporate governance policies relating to the archival and management of e-mail records.
Companies signing up to the service are provided with a repository consisting of EMC Corporation's storage hardware, Centera Compliance Edition, and Legato's message archiving software, EmailXtender, which captures and indexes all incoming and outgoing e-mails.
SunGard will provde clients with the required hardware, software and network resources, as well as ongoing monitoring and management services.
