Alliance & Leicester is giving away £25 to each customer that applies for its Premier current account using its Web banking site.
The £25 bonus is being offered to customers whose applications are accepted after applying for the account online. The money will be credited to the accounts of successful applicants within eight weeks of the account being opened.
The Premier account also include benefits such as free annual worldwide travel insurance worth about £80, an overdraft rate of 0% for 12 months and a credit interest rate of 2.12% AER.
Ewan Edwards, head of current accounts at Alliance & Leicester, claims customers switching from one of the 'Big Four' banks will typically save around £140 within the first 12 months of opening a Premier account.
