TeliaSonera and Nordea are to participate in a joint RosettaNet-Swift corporate-to-bank XML international payment services pilot project.
The feasibility test will see the Nordic telco and bank electronically exchange billing and payment remittance advice through a TeliaSonera payment messaging gateway powered by Sonic Software's enterprise server bus (EBS) and Orchestration Server.
The project aims to demonstrate the streamlining of billing and corporate payments processing through the harmonisation of multi-industry standards.
TeliaSonera has been using Sonic ESB since early 2002, which along with the Orchestration Server has been configured to issue Swift C2B XML messages to Nordea for payment initiation.
Pekka Nurmiranta, vice president for TeliaSonera Finland Oyj Service Solutions says: "Sonic ESB enables internal and inter-company integration of our invoicing and payment processes, while the Orchestration Server manages the complex interactions into a single process."
