Singer & Friedlander first to deploy Syntegra's ITS p31 switch

London-based merchant bank Singer & Friedlander has installed Syntegra's compact ITS p31 telephony switch which was designed specifically for smaller trading floors.

Singer & Friedlander went live with the switch in April this year and was the first financial institution to install the platform. The ITS p31 switch replaced the vendor's ITS d32 platform - which was installed 10 years ago.

The ITS p31 runs on Syntegra's ITS Release 15 software - allowing remote configuration, administration, monitoring and diagnostics - and links with the vendor's pV405Hi turrets and pVs81i speakers.

Syntegra also provided the firm with a digital interface to a Mitel PBX, using Digital Private Network Signaling System (DNPSS) to supply both rapid digital connectivity and voicemail to the traders.

Graham Simkins, head of trading, Singer & Friedlander, says: "When the new switch became available, we immediately saw the advantages of upgrading our voice trading technology."

The vendor says its has sold the compact switch to 37 banks in 13 countries since it was launched in March 2003.
