Unisys is to provide its payment services customers with connectivity to The Small Value Payments Company's (SVPCo) cheque image exchange service.
SVPCo is an electronic payments and processing service owned by 22 US banks and The Clearing House.
Under the agreement, customers of Unisys' outsourced payments services will be able to exchange and settle cheque images with any bank involved in the SVPCo network, regardless of whether they have access to other archives.
In addition, the connection will offer SVPCo access to Unisys' customers through one access point.
Hank Farrar, president of SVPCo, says: "The agreement between Unisys and SVPCo is important to ensure that our models converge so more banks can benefit from image exchange."
