Thailand's Bank of Asia, Krung Thai Bank and Kasikornbank have joined the Mobile Payment Club, a new payments service that will enable customers to make purchases and pay bills via their mobile hand sets.
The service has been developed by Thailand's Wireless Routing Center (WRC) and will be launched in October.
The Bank of Asia will be using the service to provide customers with mobile bill payment facilities.
As well as making payments, customers will also be able to use the service to top up mobile phone accounts. Payments are accepted and approved by SMS sent to the customer's mobile phone.
