Canadian card processing joint venture Moneris Solutions is to package and market CardinalCommerce's payment authentication software, Cardinal Centinel, to its online merchant customers.
Moneris Solutions will utilise the ASP version of the Cardinal Centinel package, which supports both MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa initiatives. In addition, the software also provides validation for smart cards, digital certificates, biometrics and mobile devices and also generates transaction logs.
Larry Wine, president, US group, Moneris Solutions, says the deal enhances efforts to secure online transactions and allow issuers, merchants and consumers to conduct business via the net with security and confidence.
"Leveraging their ASP service model, Cardinal Centinel, allows us to get merchants up and running, with guaranteed payment, in a matter of days, with very little technical skill needed on the merchant side," he says.
Moneris Solutions was formed in December of 2000 as a joint venture between the Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal. The vendor also provides technology and card processing to Harris Bank Merchant Services.
