Wells Fargo is implementing technology from messaging solutions vendor Tumbleweed Communications to provide its middle market and corporate customers with secure e-mail delivery of account analysis statements.

The solution, which delivers detailed information on treasury management transactions, utilises Tumbleweed's secure messaging platform and provides customers with tracking, reporting and auditing tools.

Jeff Smith, founder and CEO of Tumbleweed Communications says there is no software for customers to install or download.

"The solution provides business customers an alternative to the traditional paper-statement or having to go to a specific Web site to retrieve information," he says.

Steve Ellis, executive vice president and head of Wells Fargo's wholesale services, adds: "Now financial professionals whose companies bank with Wells Fargo can have access to account analysis statements from home or while on the road, 24 hours a day."

The bank's corporate customers can choose to receive statements via e-mail, or by traditional methods such as fax and post, or via Wells Fargo's Commercial Electronic Office (CEO), an Internet portal that provides a single login point for all its wholesale services.
