Diebold has entered into an automated teller machine (ATM) manufacturing agreement with India's Tata Infotech Limited.
Under the agreement, Tata Infotech will manufacture Diebold automated teller machines (ATMs) in India for distribution in India and south/southeast Asia.
The ATMs will be built according to Diebold's global design and quality specifications at Tata Infotech's manufacturing facility in Goa. As the products are localised, various components and raw materials are expected to be sourced from suppliers throughout India.
Gavin Cushman, chairman, Diebold HMA Private Limited (Diebold's existing joint venture for sales and service to financial institutions in India) and director of sales and marketing, Diebold Asia Pacific, says: "The Indian ATM market continues to flourish rapidly, and this initiative will help us to be more responsive to local market needs and reduce lead-times for our customers."
