Irish Stock Exchange to appoint RNS for company announcements

The Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) has signed a letter of intent to appoint The London Stock Exchange's Regulated News Service (RNS) to distribute company announcements when competition is introduced on 15 April.

Under the terms of the letter, RNS will be used by the ISE to distribute all regulatory news announcements from the Irish Stock Exchange.

James Ferguson, the Irish Stock Exchange's operations manager, says: "RNS has many years of experience of distributing regulatory information and we know that they will provide a secure, reliable and comprehensive service."

Last month, the Financial Services Authority approved four new primary information providers (PIP) to begin disseminating regulatory news for listed companies in direct competition to RNS in a bid to end the London Stock Exchange's monopoly on company announcements.
