ING E-Business Centre Netherlands (ING EBCN) has selected technology from Vignette to manage content for its Internet portals across the country.
ING EBCN has developed a range of portals, such as Wellowell - an independent virtual financial advisor that enables consumers to explore and compare products and services, such as mortgages, savings accounts and insurance offerings, from many financial institutions in the Netherlands. A second showpiece is the horizontal portal of the Internet service provider Freeler, which offers content on a broad range of subjects, such as travel, money, music and gaming.
Using Vignette's content management server, ING staff will be able to maintain several portals with one system, regardless of the individual look and feel of the sites.
Harry Steenkamp, director of ING EBCN, says: "Vignette's technology integrates very well with the systems of our partners. Since many companies provide content for our Web sites, this is very important for our success. Furthermore, Vignette's analysis tools will be indispensable to our marketing department, which is now able to gain insight into the individual needs of our customers, based on their viewing patterns."
The Vignette Content Suite V6 is scheduled to go live in January 2002.
ING subsidiary Postbank has been using Vignette software for its Web site since 1999.
