Computer Associates bags China Exim Bank contract

The Export-Import Bank of China (China Exim Bank) has selected technology from Computer Associates International to support its e-business infrastructure and security management.

The Export-Import Bank of China is a government financial institution directly under the State Council. The bank's existing internal network includes 500 computers of different brands, including both Windows NT and Unix servers, in addition to network hardware from Cisco and IBM.

CA's Unicenter product is being implemented to deliver centralised control and monitoring of the bank's network. It will provide a graphical representation of every resource's operational status and functionality and enable technicians to pinpoint potential problems anywhere on the network. The solution will also streamline tasks such as software distribution, which formerly had to be done manually on each PC.

In addition, the bank is deploying eTrust Intrusion Detection for monitoring access to the network's resources and eTrust Antivirus for protection against viruses and other malicious threats.
