La Caixa turns to Vignette for Web personalisation project

Grupo la Caixa, the third largest bank in Spain, is to use technology from Texas-based Vignette to relaunch its Web site and power its corporate intranet as part of a drive to focus on online customer interactivity.

The bank says it required a solution to manage dynamic site content and offer personalised information to its customers and visitors. The new site will enable clients to access online bank and broker services, personal services such as e-mail and calendar functionality, and the contents of Fundacion la Caixa.

Vignette applications will enable la Caixa's clients to access online subscriptions to financial products, including bank loans, insurance, and credit and debit cards. Clients also will be able to browse the bank's online catalogue, which houses as many as 3000 products and provides access to such la Caixa services as Servitickets, CaixaRenting and ServiHabitat, says the company.

The bank's aim is to build an individualised portal with themed channels. It plans to implement Vignette applications in stages, building more e-business applications in the future as its needs evolve.

The Vignette application will be implemented by local systems integrator daVinci Consulting Tecnologico.
