Pegasystems and Sun Microsystems have expanded a partnership agreement to offer banks rules-driven process automation solutions for customer relationship management (CRM) on the Sun Unix platform.

The companies say they will participate in joint engineering, business development and co-marketing and sales efforts.

Pegasystems' PegaCRM suite drives the automated fulfilment of a wide range of customer service requests across the Web, call centre and other points of contact. The solution will run on Sun's Solaris Operating Environment, Sun Enterprise servers and Sun StorEdge disk arrays.

Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (WestLB) has implemented the software to automate payments investigations processing and to provide a single point of contact for all customer payment inquiries.
