Visa to open new Silicon Valley office

Visa is set to open a huge new Silicon Valley office that will house 300 staffers working on technology research, business intelligence, data security and merchant solutions.

Opening in November, the 62,000 square foot site in Palo Alto will be a combination of office and collaboration spaces, extending the card scheme's footprint in the San Francisco Bay Area, where it already employs more than 3500 people.

As it seeks to keep its place at the top table of payments in the rapidly evolving digital and mobile era, Visa has been busy opening new facilities around the world in the last year. The firm has set up a technology development centre in Bangalore and innovation centres in Dubai, Miami, San Francisco, and Singapore.

Rajat Taneja, EVP, technology, Visa, says: "We continue to expand our research and development capabilities globally and are investing in facilities that enable our teams to collaborate in the creation of digital commerce solutions.

"Our new Palo Alto office allows us to draw on the diversity of the Bay Area talent pool and build an even stronger connection with the Silicon Valley community of data scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs."
