Doom on an ATM

A team of Australian geeks have rigged up an ATM to play popular shoot-'em-up action game Doom.

The hack entails stripping down an NCR Personas ATM running Windows XP and the installation of custom software and controls.

While we're unlikely to see 'Play Doom' as an option alongside deposit and withdrawal buttons on a high street ATM, the geeks behind the hack are working on further modifications to the PIN pad and side-buttons to include 'weapons selection' and retro-fitting a coin slot below the card reader to accept payments.

It's not the first example of a game-playing ATM. Last year Russian security researchers hacked a cash machine and used it to play a game of Angry Birds.
